StarCraft II – Viking Operational

Are you a fan of Transformer® serials? The players and viewers of StarCraft II will see and build a new unit – Viking. Terran military technicians designed a brand new concept to offer better ground-based anti-ground support to other ground units, like siege tanks. Based heavily on the transformation design of the Terran siege tank, the Viking was designed to be the ultimate anti-air and ground-support weapon system. Equipped with the ability to change its combat shape from a ground walker to a killer fighter, the Viking can switch smoothly to feed players’ tactical needs in battles.

The high mobility of the Viking has also led it to exceed the limitations of ground support. Full-scale raids by Viking squadrons can cast devastating damage and are very problematic to counter. To take out Vikings, the player needs to bring both a strong ground and an air force to overpower them.

However, it costs more and longer to train pilots who can master both air and ground combat modes. If they are talented enough to survive the testing flights, they will last for hundreds of battles, becoming the ultimate Terran weapons.

Time to watch another Transformer® movie!

RTS Starcraft

The purpose of any real time strategy game (RTS) is to plainly have an amazing strategic as well as tactical depth in the game. Most of the other real time strategy games have their own beliefs as to what should be their strategic and tactical depth but leave it up to Blizzard Entertainment to raise the bar with their new StarCraft II game. As long as Blizzard keeps its promise to the gaming community, StarCraft will be nothing less than the ultimate RTS game with some of the best implementation of their game play elements. It is important to a gamer that the RTS’s tactical depth as well as the strategic fell nothing less than real, otherwise there is no real reason to play. A game must feel as though every part, every element in the game plays an important function in the strategic play of the game or it is worthless, but as long as Blizzard Entertainment keeps its promises with their new StarCraft II release, then it will be well worth the wait for this highly anticipated game.

16 Units you can expect in Starcraft 2

The original Starcraft: Brood War expansion game had eleven units per race. With the exclusive info released by PCGamer (August 2007 edition), Blizzard Entertainment revealed at least 16 units should be expected per race. Below you can take a look at the different Protoss units.

Zealot - Zealots are the standard infantry unit of the Protoss.
Stalker - Stalkers are an enhanced type of dragoons operated by fallen dark templars.
Immortal - Immortals are effective against Terran tanks and heavy ranged units.
Observer - Confirmed to return in Starcraft II, but details of enhancements or new abilities are not yet revealed
Colossus - Colossus are four-legged mechanical units equipped with two beam guns that sweep through enemy units one at a time.
Phoenix - The Phoenix are anti-air flying fighters with a fearsome ability.
Phase Prism - Phase Prisms replace the Scout transporting vessel.
Warp Ray - Warp Rays are anti-air and anti-infantry units with additional damage the longer they fire a single target.
Mothership - The Mothership is at the top of the Protoss tech tree. Only one Mothership can be built at a time.
High Templar - The High Templar still creates Psionic Storms, but has gained a new ability similar to Arbiter’s Stasis Field.
Dark Templar - The stealthed melee units from the original Brood War are back.
Twilight Archon - They are the Protoss tank unit wreaking havoc through enemy defenses.
Tempest - They replace the old Carriers, equipped with an enhanced shield that activates when its attacked by ground units and defense structures.
Soul Hunter - Soul Hunters are robotic units that hover above the ground.
Reaver - The old robotic-slug Reaver unit is back. With the use of a Phase Prism, the reavers are devastating against enemy SCVs and Drones.
Phase Cannon - Phase Cannons can now phase and shift into an energy form, and move around freely to another location where it can materialize again to unleash its energy blasts.
Star Relic - The Star Relic is a dangerous unit. It can create a cloak field to make ground and air units invisible, and even structures.

StarCraft II – New Terran Units

The Terran is one of the three races created and deployed in the game of StarCraft II and StarCraft. It is human like but equipped with more advanced technologies. I am going to introduce one new Terran unit will appear in the game of StarCraft II.

Reapers - According to the game designers, reapers are the toughest criminals taken from prisons. Reapers are lightly armored and incapable to handle head to head firefights. However, their personal jet packs enable them to process high degree of mobility so that they can scramble up or down cliffs and jump across rivers and other obstacles. That is to say, reapers are tactic fighters that allow players to employ hit-and-run raiding to take out enemy structures and workers.

StarCraft II --- Races

Based on announcements from Blizzard Entertainment, the three races from original StarCraft will be sustained, upgraded and equipped with new abilities.

Terran – The human race of the three races in the original game of StarCraft will be promoted with more advanced technologies to survive the wars.

Protess – The unique robotic race in the original game of StarCraft will still process the strongest will power and assemble highly developed robotic armies in the game of StarCraft II. The only disadvantage of the mighty Protess is the higher cost for players to produce units.

Zerg – What is the biggest advantage of these bad and creepy monsters have in most common good-on-bad games? Quantity! Generally speaking, they are superior against their enemies when they are in large number. Zerg works as the same way. It always takes a short period of time and a low cost to generate a large group of units.

Prepare yourself to get involved!
